Eaton Corporation Lead Technician (2nd shift) in Blackman Twp, Michigan

Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Lead Technician 2nd shift to join our team. This position is based at our Jackson, MI facility. The expected annual salary range for this role is $52499.97 - $76999.96 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

Primary Function:

Requires a highly motivated and hands-on individual to test both prototype and production hardware to verify that it performs to the customer-required specifications. Determines what data is needed and then identifies the actual test methods, materials, fixtures and equipment required. Schedules and performs tests, presents data to the internal customer.

Essential Functions:

• Reviews test procedures and schematics to determine appropriate test equipment, instrumentation and data collection

• Confirms schedule details and capability of equipment for test engineering

• Performs testing in accordance with test specifications - including mechanical / hydraulic test setup, instrumentation & data collection, review of test results, and sample / data storage.

• Draft detail drawings or sketches as necessary for fabrication of equipment or setup components.

• Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products such as industrial equipment and machinery, power equipment, servo systems, machine tools, and measuring instruments.

• Maintains a safe working environment. Abides by all safety requirements and guarding. Designs safety into every test and activity.

• Collects and verifies accuracy of testing data.

• Communicates test results or anomalies to the requestor.

• Drives continuous improvement through efficiency in test processes, developing standard operating procedures, and assisting with hardware and/or software updates to test stands

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs unaided

  • Electrical or Mechanical /Troubleshooting experience

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of 50 miles of Jackson, MI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in a technical field (math, science, computer science, engineering)

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a product development, engineering test lab or manufacturing field
