Job Description Summary

The Project Manager will be responsible for project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Non-Turnkey Projects or Product/Equipment-Only Projects.

  • Responsible for overseeing the project and direct or indirect leadership and/or management of project resources for small-medium sized projects (size in relation to GE company) that may include equipment-only, suites of products or non-turnkey projects

  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline.

  • Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.

  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance.

  • Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems.

  • Provides informal guidance to new team members

  • All on site life extensions, repairs and inspection-related service activities able to be performed at customer site.

  • Is involved in discussions with OTR Field manger and other function and teams about improvement in processes, procedures and ways of working.

  • Contributes to the operational plan of the larger Businesses Unit including ITO

  • Communicates across direct organization.

  • Manages diverse clients in the region

  • Follows frameworks to get through the processes

  • Answers customer inquiries over the phone when feasible

  • Responds quickly to customer inquiries to keep response time to a minimum

  • Keeps abreast of current developments in the company and its products, such as changes or improvements in design, production, or shipping procedures as well as new product developments in order to provide customers the highest quality of service

  • Records activities of work performed in the field, parts shipped, or technical assistance that is provided over the phone using Field Services forms and documents

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Project Management.

  • Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in providing customer service, maintaining and repairing electro mechanical products; or equivalent combination of education and experience
