Salary: $35,994.00 - $66,589.00; Annually LOCATION: Kanawha County, WV CLOSING DATE: 05/08/2024 __________________________________________________MINIMUM QUALIFICATONS: __TRAINING: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and may require up to 24 semester hours in accounting. Preference may be given to applicants with CPA certification, a Master of Professional Accountancy or a Master of Business Administration. -AND- __EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in preparing or auditing GAAP based audited financial statements or maintaining accounting systems which support the preparation of GAAP based audited financial statements which included substantial experience with applicable software. -OR- __SUBSTITUTION: Graduate course work in the above areas from an accredited college or university may substitute at a rate of fifteen (15) semester hours for every one (1) year of required experience. __________________________________________________NATURE OF WORK: The Financial Accounting division is responsible for the preparation of audited financial statements, monthly financial reports, the budget, management and administration of federal grant funds ,daily cash management and investment processing, which includes accounts payable, and all agency cash receipts processing through the state accounting system. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing the following duties: Under general supervision, performs financial accounting work on a professional basis in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Prepares various audit schedules, reports, spreadsheets, documentation, journal entries, and other items for the annual financial statement audit. Assists the external auditors performing the audit with any questions. Prepares daily cash logs for incoming receipts, as well as other supporting documentation for wv OASIS transactions. Prepares wvOASIS deposits, revenue refunds, revenue transfers, inter-governmental transfers (IGTs), fund transfers, among others. Replies to various third-party administrator (TPA) requests relating to the Workers’ Compensation payments, including stop payments and electronic funds transfer (EFT) reclamations, and prepares necessary wvOASIS documents for them. Assists in preparing invoice information to be sent to various agencies for reimbursement per memorandum of understanding (MOU) agreements. Assists in preparing monthly revenue reconciliations for various WV Offices of the Insurance Commissioner (WV OIC) departments.
