The Volunteer - Senior Living provides companionship and support services for residents in the Senior Living Community according to their experience and training and in compliance with organization policies. Position Functions and Responsibilities Serves as an integral member of the team at the Senior Living Community. May include administrative or office duties. Provide emotional support or practical assistance to enhance the comfort and quality of life for residents and families/caregivers, which may include: reading; card games; letter-writing; listening to music; light housekeeping; meal preparation or errands, as requested. Maintains open communication and completes documentation of visits, per policy. Qualifications Experienced individual, supportive of the hospice concept, comfortable with his/her own mortality and spirituality and willing to serve others in a volunteer capacity. Successful completion of the hospice's volunteer training and orientation program; annual reviews and ongoing training. Previous volunteer experience preferred. Ability to work within the interdisciplinary group and uphold Lifesprk policies and procedures. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and appropriate boundaries, in accordance with policies.
