JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 20752 POSITION: Outreach Program Manager, OE008, Academic Staff, 100% FTE, 12-month, Renewable, One Vacancy POSITION SUMMARY: Provides guidance for program planning, implementation, and evaluation, and/or supervises outreach staff. Monitors budget and appropriate funding for programming. Promotes stable and productive relationships between the university and community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences. The Lake Superior Research Institute (LSRI) Outreach Program Manager creates and leads all development, promotional, and operational aspects of a new program aboard the Sadie Ann floating classroom and research vessel. Serves as the subject matter expert for the Sadie Ann. Assists in creating a financially sustainable program and works with internal and external partners across all disciplines to determine programmatic direction in support of the University of Wisconsin-Superior and LSRI missions. Leads the development and delivery of high-impact on-the-water outreach programs and courses, so learners of all ages have access to non-traditional programming that allows them to reach their personal and professional goals. Works with diverse groups, such as non-profits, workforce development programs, research institutions, local, state, federal, and tribal entities to develop and fund programs on the Sadie Ann. The LSRI Outreach Program Manager seeks creative opportunities to connect Lake Superior and the Sadie Ann with students, educators, researchers, the community, and beyond. UW-STANDARD JOB DESCRIPTION DUTIES: - Supervise the implementation of outreach-program-focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives. - Develop and implement operating policies and procedures to promote the outreach program in alignment with the strategic plan. - Monitor the unit or program budget and approves program expenditures. - Review recommendations for and provides input on the design and development of new outreach programs or services. - Determine outreach program needs and the personnel resource allocation plan. - May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees.)
