Position Title Subpoena Specialist

Job Summary JOB SUMMARY A Subpoena Specialist at Flagstar Bank plays a crucial role in our Legal Team by assisting with the Bank's responses to subpoenas, court orders, and other legal requests. Ensure that the Bank complies with all relevant laws and regulations while efficiently handling and responding to legal inquiries.

Job Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Subpoena and Legal Requests- Receive, review, and process incoming subpoenas, court orders, and legal requests. Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary information and documents. Utilize our case management software to monitor and prioritize requests, ensuring timely responses. Prepare cover letters and invoices in connection with subpoena requests. Contact attorneys, agencies and courts for resolution of outstanding issues, further instructions, status updates, and additional information and documentation. Field calls from attorneys, agencies, and courts. Safeguard confidentiality of the customer's banking and personal information. Documentation and Record Keeping: Create and maintain accurate records of all legal requests and responses. Ensure that documentation is organized and readily accessible for audits or legal proceedings. Coordination with Legal Counsel: Collaborate with the Bank's legal counsel to address complex or sensitive legal matters. Assist in the preparation of legal documents and court filings as needed. Assist with general clerical tasks in support of other litigation matters including, but not limited to, creating new case files, file maintenance, data entry, scanning, copying, processing mail, calendaring, and similarly related tasks.

ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required. Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications: Education level required: College, Vocational or Associates Degree (2 years or equivalent) Minimum experience required: 1 Years of experience in processing subpoena requests.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with a national or multinational bank. Familiarity with e-discovery tools and technologies.
