Pre-K Teacher Williston Basin School District #7

Summary: WBSD7 is seeking an enthusiastic Pre-Kindergarten (PK) teacher to guide a classroom of young children in a variety of educational activities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching fundamental concepts needed for kindergarten and working effectively in a classroom structure. Top candidates will have a creative mindset and good classroom management skills, be able to plan and execute lessons, and achieve the desired learning outcomes.

PK Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Teach children about core concepts using creative, hands-on methods of learning
  • Plan lessons following both the ND Early Education standards and correlate to WBSD7 Kindergarten requirements.
  • Encourage and monitor social interactions between children.
  • Establish behavior expectations; observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Supervising children outside of class time: entering and exiting the building before and after school, during lunch, out on the playground, or on field trips.
  • Setting up the materials and workspaces required for class activities.
  • Communicate with parents, coordinate teacher/parent meetings as needed
  • Assess students' learning using provided assessment materials.

Keep accurate records and log information into the student information program (Power School).

  • Create and maintain student behavior plan files as needed
  • Work with cafeteria staff to provide lunch for all students in the classroom.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Will supervise PK Para.

**Technology Skills: Knowledge of internet and E-mail software, Student Management Software, Google Suite, MS Office, basic troubleshooting skills.
